New Delhi: Saanand Verma is well-known, most notably for his part as Anokhe Lal Saxena in the comedic drama Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai. The actor recently shared about being sexually abused as a young child, which was a startling revelation about his early years. Speaking candidly, Saanand described the terrifying event as the worst nightmare he had ever had.


Saanand Verma shares traumatic incident from his past


Saanand Verma revealed on Times Now/Telly Talk India that he had been sexually harassed during a cricket match. The actor revealed that his father barely had enough money to buy him a cheap bat, trousers and a white t-shirt because they lived in poverty. Saanand remarked that he tried playing cricket in Patna, Bihar, since he wanted to be a cricket player. 


He said, "There was a big guy there who tried to sexually exploit me. I was so scared that I ran away from there. Since then, I never thought about cricket again."


The famous Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai actor also mentioned how harassment and sexual exploitation affect a child's mentality in a permanent way. Saanand added, "It is a pain that never goes away, but the thing is. You have to overcome it and move forward."


Saanand Verma on Casting Couch in the industry


In addition to sharing his terrifying childhood story, Saanand Verma talked about the casting couch that is a common practice in the entertainment industry. The 'Apaharan' actor said, "Casting couch exists here. I can't get two opinions on this, but fortunately, nothing like this has ever happened to me."  In addition, the actor mentioned that a lot of his fellow actors and crew members had similar situations.
