After months of speculations, actor Arjun Kapoor has finally spoken about his relationship status with Malaika Arora, addressing the break-up rumours with a lighthearted remark. On Monday, he attended a Diwali celebration organised by politician Raj Thackeray at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, accompanied by the cast and crew of his upcoming film ‘Singham Again’.
What Arjun said about his relationship with Malaika
During the event, a video captured Arjun interacting with the crowd. When fans began chanting Malaika Arora's name, Arjun responded with a smile, saying, "Nahi abhi single hoon. Relax karo (No, I'm single now. Relax)." He then added, "Inhone 'tall aur handsome' bola, aesa lagraha hai ki shaadi ki baat karrahe hai. Isliye maine bola relax karo pehle (He said, 'Tall and handsome,' I felt he is talking about marriage. So I said relax)."
Earlier in the year, a source revealed insights into Arjun and Malaika's split, telling Pinkvilla, “Malaika and Arjun had a very special relationship and both of them will continue to hold a special place in each other’s hearts. They have chosen to part ways and will maintain a dignified silence in this matter. They won’t allow anyone to drag and dissect their relationship.”
Arjun and Malaika’s relationship
Arjun and Malaika began their relationship in 2018, often posting snippets of their lives together, from vacation photos to birthday wishes. While they rarely discussed their relationship openly, fans could catch glimpses of their bond through social media. Last month, following the passing of Malaika’s father, Anil Mehta, Arjun was seen offering his support by visiting her.
Before her relationship with Arjun, Malaika was married to actor Arbaaz Khan. Since their divorce in 2017, the two have been co-parenting their son, Arhaan, with a focus on maintaining a healthy family dynamic.
Arjun’s role in Singham Again
Arjun Kapoor is set to play a pivotal antagonist role in 'Singham Again', directed by Rohit Shetty. The film’s ensemble cast includes Bollywood heavyweights like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Deepika Padukone, and Kareena Kapoor. With Singham’s debut in 2011 and the release of 'Singham Returns' in 2014, the franchise has seen considerable box office success, and the third installment, releasing this Diwali, promises even more excitement.
