New Delhi: Popular Tamil and Telugu film actress Anushka Shetty won over Hindi viewers with her performance as Devasena in the massively successful ‘Baahubali’ film series in 2015. While her co-stars Prabhas and Tamannaah Bhatia have continued their careers in Bollywood, Anushka has not followed in their footsteps. Anushka has focused mostly on working in the Telugu and Tamil cinema industries. She recently gave an interview in which she explained why, despite the popularity of ‘Baahubali,’ she has decided not to pursue any pan-India projects.

Anushka Shetty is currently promoting her Telugu romance drama ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty’, indicating that she is now open to fascinating ventures in any language. Anushka said in an exclusive interview that after ‘Baahubali’ she wanted to take a break and didn't even bother listening to scripts.

Anushka told The Indian Express, "Once I finished Baahubali, I had my commitment with Bhaagamathie, and then I wanted to take some time off. It was by choice. It was something I needed the most at that time. Back then, I felt like doing that so I would be more present for my future projects. I know it’s totally unheard of. It’s not what is expected of people. I don’t have a concrete answer for it, but I really wanted some time off. I didn’t listen to any script, but after that I have been listening. So surely if something exciting comes by, I will do it. Be it any language across the country."

When asked if she is ready to work to be working in a Hindi film, Anushka said, "Hopefully, if something really nice comes up, then definitely."

The Telugu film ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty,’ starring Anushka Shetty, marked her long-awaited return to the big screen. The film stars Naveen Polishetty and Anushka and is directed by Mahesh Babu. Anushka plays a cook in this love drama, which has been getting rave reviews from reviewers and viewers alike.
