New Delhi: Dua Lipa's performance of the now-viral mashup of ‘Levitating X Woh Ladki Jo’ during her recent concert in India surprised and delighted the crowd. An unexpected mix of her popular song ‘Levitating’ and the famous song ‘Woh Ladki Jo’ from the film ‘Baadshah’ quickly became an internet sensation. Renowned musician Abhijeet Bhattacharya and his son Jay Bhattacharya criticised the foreign artist for not honouring the original writers of the ‘Woh Ladki Jo’ song, which brought controversy to the performance.
Veteran composer Anu Malik praised Dua Lipa as a "very talented person" and appreciated her performance, but also requested that she and her team give credit to the original creators. Speaking to News18, Anu Malik added, "We can only request them to give us the rightful credit. Aaj kal toh hum sirf haath jodke request karte hain."
He further said, “It’s a good feeling that Dua Lipa took the song to the stage, and we’re getting the feeling that we, as musicians, are being respected all over the world.”
Anu Malik also voiced his disappointment over comments suggesting that the collaboration was an “unlikely” or “unusual” one. He emphasised the importance of recognising his efforts as a composer and being proud of the widespread adoration his music has received.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya on Dua Lipa Mashup Controversy
After Dua Lipa's rendition of the ‘Levitating X Woh Ladki Jo’ mashup went viral, Abhijeet Bhattacharya finally spoke out, saying he didn’t care whether the international singer recognised him or not. The singer said, “To be very frank, I don’t care who Dua Lipa is. She can take my name or not, but when she performed it on stage, I was flooded with all the calls. People heard it. She cannot even name anyone; pronunciation would be wrong. What difference does it make? On the contrary, it made the song even more popular. It was popular before and it is popular even today.”
