Anil Kapoor Recalls How Wife Sunita Supported Him Financially Through Tough Times

Anil Kapoor shares his wife Sunita used to pay the bills during his financial struggles.

New Delhi: Veteran actor Anil Kapoor recently shared a heartwarming anecdote about his wife, Sunita Kapoor and her unwavering support during challenging times in his career. Anil reminisced his enduring relationship with his wife while speaking at a detergent brand’s 'Share the Load' campaign event alongside his daughter Sonam Kapoor.

The actor revealed that when he first met Sunita 50 years ago, he was not financially stable. Anil disclosed, "She would take care of a lot of things, and that’s how we shared the load. She stepped forward to share the load where money was concerned."

Reflecting on their early days, Anil remembered instances when Sunita instinctively paid bills without hesitation. "There were times when I couldn’t afford certain things, but I didn’t have to tell her. She would automatically… travelling, going out for meals, sometimes we’d go to a normal restaurant, sometimes we’d go to a slightly better restaurant when we were dating each other,” he shared.

He added, “Automatically, she knows that of course I don’t have the money to pay the bill. So, she quickly slips some money out of her bag, and before I can come to know, she’s already paid the bill.”

Anil Kapoor and Sunita tied the knot on May 9, 1984, and they have been blessed with three children: Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Harshvardhan Kapoor. Sonam and Harshvardhan are actors while Rhea is a producer and director.
