Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant’s Wedding: Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant are set to tie the knot on July 12 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, marking the culmination of months-long celebrations attended by numerous international personalities and prominent figures from the film industry. However, the extravagant pre-wedding events have attracted criticism, notably from Anurag Kashyap’s daughter, Aaliyah Kashyap.

What Aaliyah Kashyap said about the wedding

Aaliyah took to her Instagram broadcast channel to voice her thoughts, referring to the Ambani wedding as "a circus" and a "big PR strategy." Aaliyah said, "The Ambani Wedding is not a wedding, at this point, it’s become a circus. I am enjoying stalking everything though."

Despite receiving invitations to some of the wedding functions, Aaliyah chose to decline. She explained her decision, saying, "I was invited to some events because apparently they’re doing PR. But I said no because I would like to believe I have a little more self-respect than to sell myself out for someone’s wedding."

Aaliyah's comments sparked a significant discussion online, with reactions ranging from agreement to criticism. Some users supported her perspective on the opulence of the wedding, while others pointed out that Aaliyah herself comes from a privileged background.

Addressing the backlash, Aaliyah further commented on her broadcast channel, "I made it on Insta celeb guys, for what I said about Ambani wedding. People are saying I am a nepo and privileged, I don’t know how that has anything to do with me not wanting to go as a PR invite for someone’s wedding when I don’t even know the people whose wedding it is. Why will I go and make PR reels for that?"

Aaliyah also expressed her fascination with the lifestyles of the wealthy, adding, "I just find rich people’s lives so fascinating, it’s like oh we have extra money, what should we do with it…"
