New Delhi: Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha are all set to tie the knot in a two-day wedding festivity in Udaipur starting today (September 23). The couple reached Udaipur on Friday (September 22) amidst a grand welcome with dhol beats. The wedding festivities will begin on Saturday, September 23 with Parineeti's 'choora' ceremony at 10 AM. It will be followed by a 'Fresco Afternoon' on the terrace near the hotel's ballroom from 10 AM to 1 PM. The first-day celebrations will conclude with a 90s theme party.
On Sunday, September 24, Raghav's 'sehrabandi' will take place at the iconic Taj Lake Palace at 1 PM. The 'baraat' will then set off from the hotel at 2 PM, pheras will take place at 4:00 PM and Vidai at 6:30 PM.
The wedding reception, around the theme of 'A Night of Amore' will be held at the Leela Palace Courtyard at 8.30 PM on Sunday.
As the couple ties the nuptial knot in a two-day ceremony, we take a look back at their love story:
Parineeti and Raghav started making public appearances earlier this year raising speculations about their relationship. They were first spotted on a lunch and dinner date in Mumbai in March, followed by joint appearances at Delhi airport. Soon after their relationship was confirmed and news about their engagement started doing the rounds. The couple got engaged on May 13 in Delhi's Kapurthala House.
Though the couple made their first public appearance this year, they have known each other for years. There were also reports that the two had known each other since their higher education days in London. While the actress holds a triple Honours degree in business, finance, and economics from the Manchester Business School, the politician studied at the London School of Economics (LSE).
As per a Women's Era report, Parineeti and Raghav’s friendship turned into a relationship during the shoot of the actor’s film Chamkila in Punjab last year.
In her engagement post, Parineeti had mentioned that one breakfast with Raghav was enough for her to know that he was the one. She had written, "When you know, you know. One breakfast together and I knew - I had met the one. The most wonderful man whose quiet strength would be calming, peaceful and inspiring. His support, humour, wit and friendship are pure joy. He is my home. Our engagement party was like living a dream - a dream unfurling beautifully amidst love, laughter, emotion and loads of dancing! Raghav had also spoken about their first meeting while talking with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. "Hum jaise bhi mile (However we met), it was very magical and a very organic way of meeting. It is something that I thank god every day for, for giving me Parineeti in my life... Bahut badi blessing hai (It's a huge blessing) and I am extremely happy that I have her as my partner. As I said, I thank god every single day for giving her to me," he replied when asked about their first meeting.
