New Delhi: In the wake of Fahadh Faasil's recent admission that he was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 41, Shine Tom Chacko, another Malayalam actor, has come forth with his diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Shine Tom Chacko’s experience with ADHD has been positive, albeit it may not be the same for others. ADHD, or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, is a long-term issue that causes individuals to be impulsive, hyperactive, and have trouble focusing.
In a conversation with Manorama Online, Shine Tom Chacko said, "I have ADHD. I’m an ADHD kid. It’s a diagnosed condition. People with ADHD often seek to catch others’ attention. An actor, in fact, emerges from this need for attention. Otherwise, why not just stay in a closed room? Every man has a bit of this. That’s why we go out and dress up — to be noticed."
He continued by explaining how his illness affects his actions and performance. "In people with ADHD, this behaviour is much more pronounced, which is why it’s called a disorder. Someone with ADHD always wants to be noticed and will try to stand out from other actors. They’ll perform according to the character, seeking more attention from the audience. Only outsiders view this as a disorder. For me, ADHD is my best quality. Some people say 'a stain is good,' right? It might not apply to everyone, but for me, ADHD has been very beneficial", the actor added.

Among his numerous notable film credits are ‘Annayum Rasoolum’, ‘Beast’, ‘Jigarthanda’, and ‘Bheeshma Parvam’. Shine Tom Chacko is now preparing for the release of ‘Thaanara’ after appearing in ‘Little Hearts’.
He will be next seen in the forthcoming pan-India action movie ‘Devara: Part 1’, which also features Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Jr. NTR. On September 27, the cinematic adaptation of Koratala Siva's Telugu film, as well as dubbed versions in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, will be released all over the globe.
