New Delhi: Singer and songwriter Adnan Sami broke the tragic news of his mother's demise on Instagram today. The singer and his family are saddened by the passing of Begum Naureen Sami Khan, who was 77 years old.


Adnan Sami announced the death of Mother Begum Naureen Sami Khan with "the greatest sadness & infinite sorrow" in a heartfelt tribute. Sharing a picture of his mother, he wrote, "It's with the greatest sadness & infinite sorrow that I announce the demise of our beloved Mother, Begum Naureen Sami Khan. We are overtaken by profound grief.”


He added, "She was an incredible lady who shared love & joy with everyone she touched. We will miss her immensely. Kindly say a prayer for her departed soul." 


He concluded the post by writing, "May Allah SWT bless our dearest Mother in Jannat-ul-Firdaus...Ameen…"






Fans and celebs took to social media to express their deepest sympathies and offer prayers. VJ Mini Mathur commented, “I’m so, so sorry for your loss, dear Adnan, Roya, and Medina. Wishing strength to the family.” A fan also wrote, "My deepest and sincere condolences to you and the family."

Adnan Sami was born to Pakistani diplomat Arshad Sami Khan and Naureen Khan in London, England on August 15, 1971. His mother is from Jammu, India, while his father is Afghani of Pashtun origin. In 2016, Adnan became an Indian citizen.
