In 2008, after Britney Spears got divorced with Kevin Federline, reports of her mental state deteriorating came to light. Britney's father Jamie Spears then appealed for her conservatorship in court. The court accepted his point and all the property, business rights, health rights and others came to her father.

Britney made several allegations against her father's conservatorship and appealed to the court to get freedom from him. Britney's allegations surprised everyone as she expressed her displeasure on social media, terming the system cruel and accusing her father of taking advantage of it.

Spears was quoted saying by BBC, “I want to end this conservatorship without being evaluated. This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life.”
