New Delhi: Alia Bhatt's latest movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali has exceeded the Rs 100 crore mark in India. With Rs 102.68 crore in revenue in just 13 days, the SLB film has proven to be a financial success.
The film continues to draw audiences to the theatres despite the fact that Alia's ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ is up against competition from ‘Jhund’ and ‘The Batman’.
BoxOfficeIndia.com said that the film had performed well in India. According to their report, "The way this film has collected over the first two weeks makes it look like the pandemic has hardly hit business...Gangubai Kathiwadi is heading for the 115 crore nett mark at least and it could even cross 120 crore nett."
The film was released in theatres on February 25th, which is based on a true story about a brothel owner and mafia queen ‘Gangubai’ in South Mumbai.
For her stunning depiction of the character, Alia Bhatt has been receiving a lot of positive feedback, and when the film was announced as a member of the 100 crore club, she went to Instagram stories to share the exciting news with her followers.
Alia shared a photo of herself from the film in which she can be seen doing her signature gesture from the flick. She penned the picture, “domestic box office collection 102.68 crore.”
This is also a milestone for producer Jayantilal Gada (Pen Movies), who joins the exclusive 100 Crore Club with this film.
Alia Bhatt will be next seen in ‘Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani’, opposite Ranveer Singh.
