New Delhi: The Black Eyed Peas posted the video for their new song ‘Action’ which has been dedicated to Indian cinema. Scenes from various South Indian movies were compiled together to make this video. Deep Fake Technology was used to add the musicians into the video. In the video, scenes from S. Shankar’s Enthiran, Rohit Shetty’s Singham, SS Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna, and Sundar C’s Aambala, the original faces have been replaced by the faces of Will.I.Am and Taboo. Scenes from the Swedish film Kopps also appears in the video.


On YouTube, the video has received over 2,007,535 views. In the description, it is written “The Black Eyed Peas have been inspired by Indian culture from the beginning of our career...From Asha Bhosle to A.R Rahman, Indian music has influenced our songs on more than one occasion…This video for ACTION shows our LOVE and appreciation for BOLLYWOOD and the imagination and awesomeness it brings to the screen...Thank you INDIA & BOLLYWOOD!!!”
This is not the first time they have taken inspiration from Indian cinema, for the song ‘Don’t Phunk With My Heart’ the Black Eyes Peas has sampled the tune of Don song ‘Ye Mera Dil’ and ‘Ae Naujawan’ from film Apradh.
The band now consists of will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo after Fergie stepped away in 2017.
