Chennai: Actress Yashika Anand met a grievous accident near Mamallapuram, one of her female friends died on the spot when her car toppled after hitting the median on ECR yesterday (July 24) night.


Yashika's deceased friend, Valli Chetty Bhavani, 28, of Hyderabad, is said to be a software engineer who returned from the US last week and went to Chennai to meet her friends. There were two men in the car along with Yashika and her friend Valli, but their identities are yet to be obtained, according to police sources.


The grievous accident occurred around 11.30 pm near Sulerikadu on ECR road when they were returning to Chennai from Mamallapuram.


Seeing the fatal road accident the fellow motorists came to the victims' rescue and rushed them to the emergency care unit at Poonjeri. While Valli Chetty Bhavani was declared “brought dead”, the other three were admitted to a private hospital in Chennai.

Mamallapuram police have registered a case and will further investigate it.


The New Delhi girl, Yashika Anand has worked in many Tamil and Telugu films, however, she rose to fame after participating in the reality show Bigg Boss Tamil 2.


Kavalai Vendam, Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru, Paadam, Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu, and NOTA are some of the films she has worked in. Apart from movies, her TV show 'Maya' also earned her a good amount of fame in southern showbiz.
