New Delhi: The news of the tragic demise of Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey shocked everyone. The body of the actress was discovered in her hotel room in Varanasi last month. Akanksha Dubey passed away at the age of 25. As the death was determined to be a suicide, other shocking facts began to emerge. The actress's relatives filed a harassment case against Samar Singh. Her family has now demanded a CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) investigation into it.
Her lawyer, Shashank Shekhar Tripathi, asked Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to investigate the case, as reported by ANI. Shashank Shekhar Tripathi told ANI, "I request Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to look into the matter. Akanksha's family members have demanded a CBI probe as they no longer trust the Varanasi Police. According to Akanksha's mother, singer Samar Singh used to harass Akanksha. Akanksha`s family members believe that their daughter was murdered."
The suicide of Akanksha Dubey was blamed on Samar Singh and Sanjay Singh by Dubey's mother. Both Samar and Sanjay were charged with aiding a suicide by the Uttar Pradesh police. Akanksha's mother also claims that singer Samar Singh used to bully her daughter.
Samar and Sanjay were both charged with instigating violence on April 6, leading to the issuance of NBWs (non-bailable warrants) by the court.
A resident of Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district, Akanksha Dubey had come to Varanasi for a film shoot and was staying at the hotel. The hotel staff used a master key to enter her room at the insistence of Dubey's colleagues when she did not come out till late on Sunday morning, the police had said.
Dubey starred in several regional films, including ‘Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki 2’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (Bhojpuri) and ‘Veeron ke Veer’.
