New Delhi: 'RRR' has been getting rave reviews from Hollywood and audiences internationally especially after it was released on streaming giant Netflix. After receiving praises from the likes of the Russo Brothers and many directors, screenwriters from Hollywood, British filmmaker Edgar Wright known for films like 'Baby Driver' and 'Last Night in Soho' has come out in praise for the film.
Edgar took to his official Twitter handle and wrote, "Finally saw RRR movie on the big screen at the BFI with a great crowd. What an absolute blast. So entertaining. The only film I have ever seen where the intermission card itself got a round of applause.”
Soon after Edgar tagged the 'RRR' movie handle on Twitter, it's official Twitter account shared the intermission card with a tweet,"This is driving us crazy. We are elated to hear from you 🤩.Thank you so much @edgarwright "
'RRR' was also recently nominated in the best picture category by the Hollywood Critics Association Awards where it bagged the second best picture award.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, 'RRR' stars Jr. NTR and Ram Charan besides Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris. 'RRR' was mounted on a budget of Rs. 550 crores and earned close to Rs.1200 crores at the box office.
Produced by DVV Entertainment, 'RRR' was extensively shot in India with some sequences in Ukraine and Bulgaria. The film's soundtrack and background score is composed by M. M. Keeravani with cinematography by K. K. Senthil Kumar and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. Sabu Cyril is the film's production designer whilst V. Srinivas Mohan supervised the visual effects.
'RRR' released on March 25, 2022 worldwide and was re-released in theatres recently even after being available to watch on Netflix. The film is still earning good business at the box office, unusual for an action-entertainer which has run its course in theatres, and especially an Indian film in the USA.
