New Delhi: Today (January 7) marks the 56th birth anniversary of late actor Irrfan Khan and his son Babil Khan remembered his ‘baba’ through an emotional note.
Taking to Instagram, Babil shared a series of throwback pictures featuring him as a baby and his father from his younger days.
"Questions keep me up at night. Those that I never asked then, those that I can never ask now. My inquiries are left for me to quench on my own, that's okay, I will figure it out. I miss your laughter though, I don't think there is an answer for that. Remembering a day when you arrived here," Babil captioned the post.
Recently in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Babil reflected on coping with the loss of his father. The ‘Qala’ actor said that he isolated himself for 1.5 months.
"I think when it first happened the first day was just I think I didn’t believe it so I thought I had I’m so mature, ‘Maine toh deal bhi kar liya’. Okay in the first I’m a child and the next day just subtle feelings of it like it wasn’t one week had passed and it hit then and then I just went into a really bad spiral like I just locked myself in my room for one and a half months,” he told Bollywood Bubble.
One of India's finest actors, Irrfan made his debut in 1988 with the Oscar-nominated film 'Salaam Bombay'.
In a career spanning over 30 years, the Padma Shri awardee actor worked in some of the finest Hindi cinemas, as well as in Hollywood films. Irrfan, known for his work in critically-acclaimed films such as 'Maqbool', 'The Namesake', ' Life in a ...Metro' and 'The Lunchbox' (2013), died from a rare form of cancer in April 2020.
His son, Babil, made his acting debut with 'Qala'. Set in the 1930s, 'Qala' is about the tumultuous relationship between an aspiring singer and her domineering mother. The film also stars Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee. Next, he will be seen in Yash Raj Films' maiden web series 'The Railway Men', billed as a tribute to the unsung heroes of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy.
