New Delhi: The sequel to Avatar is finally here! The film, which will be announced in April this year under the title Avatar: The Way of Water, will be released in 3D. A new trailer has also been uploaded today.

With $2.84 billion in global box office revenues since its release in 2009, James Cameron's Avatar is the highest-grossing picture of all time. Aside from that, it has been recognised as contributing to the dawn of the digital 3D age and the introduction of innovative production tools and methods in fields such as performance capture and virtual production.

It offers a glimpse of Pandora, which served as the location for the first film. Several photos feature the ocean or water in a prominent role. For the most part, you'll be flying over a teeming sea of creatures, including one monstrous aquatic beast, while you explore Pandora's wonders. Throughout the clip, there is a constant blueness about it. From what we've seen thus far, Avatar 2 seems to be absolutely spectacular.

Alongside an impressive roster of established stars like Kate Winslet, Edie Falco and Michelle Yeoh comes a group of up-and-coming performers that make up the cast of the Avatar films. Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, Stephen Lang, Matt Gerald, and Sigourney Weaver are among the cast members that return for the sequel.

According to the current timetable, the sequel will be released in cinemas on December 16, 2021.
