Bollywood singer Arijit Singh's mother has been admitted to a hospital in Kolkata. The reason for her hospitalization is still unknown; some online reports claim that she is battling Covid 19.
Meanwhile popular Bengali actors have made the appeals to help Arijit on their social media handles.
'Dil Bechara' actress Swastika Mukherjee requested people to help Arijit. Swastika Mukherjee posted an SOS message on her Instagram post and asked people to donate blood. She wrote in her post, 'Need A- blood for singer Arijit Singh’s mother, admitted in Amri Dhakuria. Pls, contact @swatihihihi with verified MALE DONORS'. The Bengali actor posted it with the caption, 'Urgent SOS SOS'.
Meanwhile, Srijit Mukherjee tweeted in Bengali which loosely translated as, '#Copied. Need A– donor for singer Arijit Singh’s mother in Dhakuria Amri tomorrow. Interested blood donors can contact Nitasha'.
The singer later posted on Facebook requesting people to not extend help just because he is a celebrity and urged them to treat every patient the same. “It is my humble request to those who are trying to help me at this hour, Please Do not overdo things just because you see a name called Arijit Singh. Until we learn to respect each individual, We are not going to elevate ourselves from this disaster. I am thankful to people who reached out and helped but please remember we are all human beings. Every individual is priority," he posted.
Many celebrities have been posting SOS calls for help amid the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
