The power couple, who tied the knot on December 11, 2017, are quite excited upon welcoming their little bundle of joy into their lives. Proud father Kohli made the news public via micro-blogging site Twitter.
With a heart emoticon, Virat wrote, "We are thrilled to share with you that we've been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers, and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat (sic)."
As soon as the couple announced the big news, wishes poured in for the high-profile newborn. Social media is flooded with congratulatory messages and wishes for the young parents.
Sports stars like badminton player Saina Nehwal and English international cricketer Alexandra Hartley were one of the first few personalities to wish the new parents.
Few months back, Anushka and Virat took their respective social media handles to announce their pregnancy. Anushka posted an adorable picture wherein she flaunted her baby bump while posing with Viral Kohli. The caption for the post read, "And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021." The picture has received over 60 lakh likes on Instagram till date.
Anushka is expected to return to resume full-scale work from May, just four months after she delivers her first child. She was last seen in 'Zero', which released in 2018. Although, Sharma is away from the big screen, she has delivered two big hits in the digital space- 'Bullbul' and 'Pataal Lok'.
