Noted filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently underwent an angioplasty surgery in a Mumbai hospital after he complained of mild chest pain. The surgery took place over the weekend and the director is currently recovering.
Reportedly, last week Anurag complained of slight discomfort in his chest and decided to get it checked where angiography revealed few blockages in his heart. He was immediately admitted to the hospital for surgery.
The filmmaker’s spokesperson also confirmed the news of the director undergoing surgery to ABP News and added that he is currently recuperating. He has reportedly been advised a week’s rest before he can resume work.
On the work front, Anurag has ‘Dobaaraa’ in his pipeline where he will be seen reuniting with Taapsee Pannu after ‘Manmarziyaan’. The film will also star Thappad fame Pavail Gulati in the lead role.
Recently, Kashyap’s daughter Aaliyah too returned to Mumbai after 10 months from New York where she is pursuing higher studies.
Angioplasty is a medical procedure that opens up a blocked artery around the heart. It is a standard treatment for narrowed or blocked arteries in this area of the body. Doctors also refer to angioplasty as percutaneous coronary intervention/PCI.
We wish Anurag Kashyap a speedy recovery!
