The Alia-Ranbir Wedding is happening on a budget. In a recent update, a source close to Hindustan Times revealed that Ranbir Kapoor has set aside Rs 1 lakh for the jootha chuari rasam. This is part of the traditional wedding tradition wherein the bride's sisters steal the groom's shoes and ask for money in exchange. "Mostly Alia's girl gang will be in charge of stealing Ranbir's shoes. A budget of one lakh has been kept aside for the same," The Hindustan Times report stated.
Riddhima Kapoor and Bharat Sahni were spotted at Mumbai aiport on Tuesday evening. Their very presence quashed all rumors of the postponement of Alia Bhatt's wedding. New Delhi: Lovebirds Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are all set to tie-the-knot in the coming week. The much-anticipated wedding is going to be the Big Bollywood Wedding of the year.
As per reports doing the rounds, Alia and Ranbir's wedding celebrations will take place between April 13- April 17. The couple will have a traditional Punjabi wedding, given Ranbir's Punjabi background. Rumours are rife that the couple will take the nuptial vows at RK house in Chembur, where Ranbir's parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor also tied-the-knot in the 1980s.
The wedding festivities will begin from April 13 with the Mehendi ceremony followed by a Sangeet ceremony, the next day. The Big Bollywood Wedding will finally take place on April 14, in an intimate ceremony amid close friends and family members.
Speculations are doing the rounds that B-Town celebs invited to the wedding include Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Varun Dhawan, Ayan Mukerji, Zoya Akhtar, Arjun Kapoor, Masaba Gupta, Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan among others. Post their wedding, Ranbir and Alia will reportedly hold a grand reception by the end of April, for their industry friends.
