New Delhi: Filmmaker SS Rajamouli and his team is on cloud nine as his magnum opus epic drama 'RRR' adds one more feather to its cap with its song 'Naatu Naatu' becoming the first ever asian song to win the prestigious Golden Globe Award. The energetic song 'Naatu Naatu' packed with some terrific dance moves by the protagonists Jr NTR and Ram Charan, won the title of the Best Original Song in the Motion Picture category at the 80th Golden Globe Awards.


With 'RRR' making global history with its big win, several popular celebrities took to their social media handles to express their joy and congratulate the cast on bringing home the prestigious award.


Academy Award winning music composer A R Rahman hailed the 'RRR' team and extended his heartfelt congratulations on behalf of all Indians. He tweeted, "Incredible ..Paradigm shift. Congrats Keeravani Garu from all Indians and your fans! Congrats SS Rajamouli Garu and the whole RRR team!"






Alia Bhatt, who played one of the female leads in 'RRR', reacted on the big win with red heart emojis.




Megastar Chiranjeevi took a bow to the 'RRR' team as he tweeted, "What a Phenomenal, Historic Achievement !!!! Golden Globes Best Original Song - Motion Picture Award to @mmkeeravaanigaru !! Take a Bow! Heartiest Congratulations Team @RRRMovie & @ssrajamouli!! India is proud of you!"


 






Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, known for his witty remarks, congratulated the team in his own unique style as he wrote, "Sir just woke up and started dancing to Naatu Naatu celebrating your win at Golden Globes. Here’s to many more awards & making India so proud!!"






Filmmakers Shekhar Kapur and Ram Gopal Varma also congratulated Rajamouli and his team for winning the prestigious award.


Shekhar Kapur wrote, "Congratulations @ssrajamouliand the music team of #RRR for winning best song at the Golden Globe Awards 2023 for #natunatu .. you won against songs by Rihanna , Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. So be proud of what you have achieved …"

'Naatu Naatu' was in competition with 'Carolina' from "Where the Crawdads Sing", "Ciao Papa" from "Guillermo del Toro's "Pinocchio", "Hold My Hand" from "Top Gun: Maverick," "Lift Me Up" from "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever".


Music composer M. M. Keeravani received the award amid cheers of joy and dedicated the award to 'RRR' director Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Ram Charan.
