Mumbai: The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has taken away a lot of lives. There has been a surge in the number of positive cases in the country. The positive cases are increasing daily and hospitals have been falling short of beds and other medical resources required to treat coronavirus patients.

Many celebrities from both the film and television industry have been extending their helping hands to the people in need during this time of crisis. This includes Sonu Sood, Akshay Kumar, Gurmeet Choudhary and others. Celebrities are also using their social media as a tool to reach out to people in need.

Famous choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who celebrated his birthday yesterday, revealed during a conversation with Times Of India about the birthday gift he received from Akshay Kumar. Ganesh Acharya told the publication, “Akshay has really been kind. It was my 50th birthday yesterday. He asked me what present I would like for the occasion and I asked him if he could help 1600 junior choreographers and aged dancers and about 2000 background dancers with a month’s ration. He readily agreed.”


The ’Sooryavanshi’ actor along with his wife Twinkle Khanna earlier donated 100 oxygen concentrators to tackle the COVID-19 crisis and lack of oxygen supply in the country. He also donated Rs 1 crore to BJP leader and former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir’s foundation.


Speaking on the professional front, Akshay Kumar will be next seen starring in ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘BellBottom’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Atrangi Re’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and ‘Prithviraj’.
