Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has issued an official statement to put an end to the speculations about the release dates of ‘Sooryavanshi’ and ‘BellBottom’. Gossip mills have been buzzing with the rumours that the two much-awaited flicks will release on Independence Day 2021. The ‘Rustom’ actor clarified that the makers of his two upcoming films are working out the release dates and fans should wait for an official announcement.
Akshay said that he is ‘humbled’ to know the excitement of his fans regarding his movies. He released a statement after reports about his films’ release date surfaced on the internet.
“I’m humbled at the excitement and eagerness of my fans regarding the release of Sooryavanshi and BellBottom and want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for all their love. However, at this point, it is purely speculative to say that both films [Sooryavanshi, BellBottom] will release on #IndependenceDay. The producers of both films are working out the release dates and will make announcements at the right time,” Khiladi Kumar said in a statement.
‘Sooryavanshi’ was originally slated to hit the silver screens in March 2020; however, the makers postponed the release due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
Movie buffs were quite excited after the producers announced that the cop drama will arrive in the cinema halls on April 30, 2021. They had to delay the release date for the second date in the wake of second wave of COVID-19 in India.
‘Sooryavanshi’, which also stars Katrina Kaif, has been directed by Rohit Shetty. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh, who will be seen in special appearances in the highly-anticipated flick, will reprise their respective roles of Bajirao Singham and Sangram Simmba Bhalerao.

Earlier this month, the makers of ‘BellBottom’ released a statement to squash the reports which suggested that the film would premiere directly on an OTT platform.
The espionage thriller is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 28. It is expected to get delayed further as the cinema halls are still shut in many parts of the country. The movie also stars Lara Dutta, Huma Qureshi and Vaani Kapoor in key roles.
