New Delhi: Bengali actor Aindrila Sharma passed away on Sunday after suffering from a stroke followed by multiple cardiac arrests. She was just 24 years old. Previously, she had battled cancer twice and had emerged victorious. The entire Tollywood industry and her fans had prayed for her recovery while she was at the hospital and hoped for a miracle to happen, but it was all in vain. Aindrila's death left the industry in shock and her fans mourned her death over social media. 


Actor and writer Sabyasachi Chowdhuri who was her boyfriend stood by her through thick and thin. He kept on posting and updating people about Aindrila's health and all the developments on social media. In the realm of fear and hopelessness, he also went to the extent of penning down a post on social media where he urged people to pray for Aindrila so that a miracle could happen. 


He had written, "I never thought that I would write this here. However, today is the day. Pray for Aindrila. Pray for a miracle. Pray for the supernatural. She is fighting against all odds, beyond human."


The night before Aindrila's death, Sabyasachi deleted all his social media posts that he had written during the time Aindrila was hospitalized, and post her passing he deleted all his social media handles as well.


Aindrila’s death was also condoled by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who said in a statement, “Deeply saddened at the untimely demise of our young artiste Aindrila Sharma. The talented actress won several accolades including the Tele Samman Award. My deepest condolences to her family, fans & friends. I pray they find the courage in this hour of grief.”


Prior to her last rites, the mortal remains of Aindrila were brought to her residence at Kudghat, where her neighbours and relatives paid homage. She was then taken to Technicians’ Studio, Tollypara, where Ushasie Chakraborty and many others artists had reached to pay tributes to the actress.


Also, Director and MP Raj Chakraborty was with the family since she was at the hospital and Minister Aroop Biswas also reached Aindrila’s residence at Kudghat. Raj and Aroop accompanied the family and Sabyasachi Chowdhury to Technician’s Studio followed by the burning ghat, according to a report in Times Of India.


Aindrila had made her television debut with the show 'Jhumur' in 2017. After that, she did a number of popular daily soaps including ‘Jiyon Kathi’, ‘Jibon Jyoti’ and others. Entering into the digital world, she was recently featured in the web series 'Bhagar', which also starred her beau Sabyasachi.
