New Delhi: Former Miss World and now actor Manushi Chhillar is a self-made woman who will soon be making her Cannes 2023 debut. The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will be held from May 16 to May 27 in France. She will be joining actress Anushka Sharma at the prestigious celebration.
After bringing the coveted crown of Miss World back after 17 years in 2017, Manushi has been unstoppable and is constantly seen making a bigger name for herself in the world of glamour and cinema.
Several Bollywood personalities such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Sharmila Tagore, and Deepika Padukone, among others, have been part of the jury for the French festival.
Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Pooja Hegde, Hina Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Aditi Rao Hydari have also walked the red carpet.
Deepika Padukone was also part of the Cannes Film Festival’s jury last year.
Meanwhile, on the work front, the actress will be seen in ‘Tehran’ next to John Abraham and ‘Operation Valentine’ with Varun Tej amongst many others.
Manushi made her debut with Akshay Kumar in ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ last year and was appreciated for her performance in the period epic drama. Manushi played the role of Samrat Prithviraj’s wife Sanyogita in the film.
There was a lot of anticipation around the film which allegedly took more than 10 years of research. However, the Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar starrer bombed at the box office despite mixed reviews from both audiences and critics.
Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and mounted on a budget of Rs. 175 crores, the film was a big loss to the Yash Raj banner despite massive marketing and publicity.
Hopefully, Manushi’s upcoming films will prove to a box office success for her.
Meanwhile, Anushka Sharma will also be making her Cannes debut in 2023.
