New Delhi: Singer Adnan Sami surprised his fans when he lost around 160 kg a few years ago and his massive transformation was appreciated by everyone. In a recent interview the singer opened up about the time before the weight loss and how he had to sit straight while sleeping and what motivated him to lose weight.

In an interview with Brut India, Adnan recalled the meeting with his doctor that changed everything. The doctor told him, “I wouldn’t be surprised if your parents found you dead in a hotel room six months from now. I’ll never forget that sentence because it stuck so badly in my head.”

He also revealed that he had sleep apnea and his legs were so heavy that he couldn’t lift them up to get into the car. “I had sleep apnea. I could not sleep lying down. For years, I slept sitting like you are sitting right now. A point came that my legs became so heavy that I couldn’t lift them up to get into the car. My drivers were trained that the moment I came near the car, they would lift my leg and put it in the car and they did it in such a discreet manner that nobody would really realise,” he told Brut India.

Talking about his weight loss journey he said when he started it was a mountain to climb and he took small steps in losing 169 kilos.

Adnan also told that he ate a lot of brownies when he weighed 230 kilos. He said that while recording he used to have a tray of brownies next to him and used to have brownies like people eat peanuts.

Adnan had recently launched a single titled 'Alvida'; for its announcement, he had deleted all his previous Instagram posts, leaving his fans shocked.

Adnan renounced his Pakistani citizenship and became a citizen of India in 2016 and was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, in 2020.
