Chennai: Several complaints were lodged from different places seeking the arrest of Kollywood actress Meera Mithun, after her casteist remarks irked a section of people in the state.


Motormouth Meera invites trouble


The motor-mouth Meera spoke ill for the Dalits community and Dalit filmmakers in Tamil cinema in a recent video which upset many and lead them to lodge complaints against her.


Dalits should be chucked out


Meera was seen saying in a recent YouTube video that the scheduled caste workers should be chucked out of the film industry. She said that the members of the SC community face problems mostly because they are indulged in criminal activities. Spewing venom further, she said that no one will unnecessarily speak ill of someone without a reason. I think it’s time to chuck out all the scheduled caste people and filmmakers from the industry.


Hate Speech


After the clip went viral on social media, subsequently, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VKC) Chief and MP Thol Thirumavalavan shared the video clip and asked for the arrest of Meera Mithun. The VCK leader, former MP Vanni Arasu, and several other organisations in Tamil Nadu have lodged police complaints today against the actress and model Meera Mithun following which Chennai police arrest her in Kerala.


Suicidal threat


The Bigg Boss 3 Tamil contestant threatened when police went to arrest her. She shot a clip and crying and shouting at police that if they arrest her, she would hurt herself.

According to the sources, the actress has been booked under sections 153, 153A (1)(a), 505(1)(b), 505 (2) of IPC, and several sections under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.
