Popular TV actor Karan Wahi’s recent post on social media has landed him in controversy as the actor has received death threats, hate messages and abuses from a section of netizens after he questioned the large gathering at the Kumbh Mela.

It all started when Karan took a dig at the large gathering of naga sadhus at the on-going Kumbh Mela and wrote on his Instagram story: "Isn't there a Work From Home culture for Naga Babas? Like get water from Ganga and take a shower at home #justcurious #kumbhmela. (sic)"

However, his post didn’t go well with a section of netizens who started trolling an abusing him & even called him anti-Hindu. One of the trolls even asked him if he had ever read Bhagavad Gita.

Later Karan also shared on social media that he has received many death threats on his Insta story. His post reads as:  “So I have received messages, abusive content, even death threats already. Wow, people of India. If being a Hindu is to turn a blind eye on covid protocols not being followed then a lot of you first need to read what being a Hindu is.”

On a related note, lakhs of devotees were seen taking dips into the Ganga river at the Mahakumbh festival in Haridwar. Led by their ‘mahamandaleshwaras’, the sadhus from different Akhadas took out Shobha Yatras through the main thoroughfare of the pilgrimage city to gather at Brahma Kund, Hari ki Pairi for the Shahi Snan or royal bath on Monday.
