Mumbai: Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal on Monday appeared before the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for the the second time in a little over a month in the alleged drugs case which emerged while investigating the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. The investigating agency is questioning actors from the film industry to get a breakthrough in the film industry-drug cartel nexus, after the death by suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput shook the nation a few months ago. Earlier, the Rock On actor was grilled by the agency on November 13 for almost seven hours after certain information was obtained while interrogating others arrested in a drug case.
Infact, last month the agency also seized electronic gadgets and some medicines banned under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act during the search at his residence, as per PTI report.
His partner Gabriella Demtriades was questioned for two days, while her brother, Agisilaos Demetriades, and Rampal's friend Paul Bartel were arrested in connection with the case. Both the actor and his girlfriend have been in a live-in relationship since a long time and have a son together named Arik.
During the ongoing probe of the alleged drug case in Bollywood, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a raid at Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal’s residence in Mumbai last month. Arjun recently announced his upcoming movie on Twitter ‘The Battle Of Bhima Koregaon’.
Rampal (47), has featured in several films including Rock On!! (2008), Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat (2001), Om Shanti Om (2007), Raajneeti (2010) and Housefull (2010). The NCB began probing drug cartels' links with the film industry after the revelations from WhatsApp chats in the wake of Rajput's death in June this year. The agency arrested Rajput's girlfriend, along with others. She was, however, later released on bail.
