New Delhi: A prominent TV and film star, Annu Kapoor, was admitted to a hospital in New Delhi on Thursday following a chest ailment. The 66 years old actor was brought to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in the nation's capital but has not verified the internet rumours that he had a heart attack. The doctor has said that Kapoor is doing well and is stable at this time. The cardiology staff is treating him and keeping a close eye on him.


Recently, the administration of Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi issued a statement on the matter of Annu Kapoor's health. "Mr. Annu Kapoor was admitted for a chest problem. He is admitted under Dr. Sushant Wattal in cardiology. He is currently stable and recovering," according to a statement released by the hospital's Chairman of Management, Dr. Ajay Swaroop. 


For fans who were worried about the veteran actor's health, the release of the formal statement was a huge comfort.


Annu Kapoor has appeared in more than a hundred films and television series in addition to his other roles as a singer, director, radio jockey, and TV personality. His list of accolades is long and impressive, including two National Film Awards, one Filmfare Award, and two Indian Television Academy Awards in a variety of categories. 


Kapoor's first film was opposite Amitabh Bachchan in 1979's ‘Kala Pathhar’. However, he became a household name after the release of the film Utsav in 1984. For eleven years, from 1994 to 2005, he was the presenter of the hit singing reality programme ‘Antakshari’.


Meanwhile, the legendary actor's next film is ‘Dream Girl 2’, the sequel to the cult classic of the same name. In the first film, Annu portrayed the role of Ayushmann Khurrana's father, while Raaj Shaandilyaa returns to direct the sequel. The film, which was originally set to star Nushrratt Bharuccha, now stars Ananya Panday and opens on June 23, 2023.
