New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to release its manifesto for the upcoming Uttarakhand assembly elections on February 2, party sources said on Tuesday, news agency ANI reported.


"BJP's manifesto for the Uttarakhand polls is likely to be released on February 2 in the presence of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari," the ANI reported quoted a source as saying.


The BJP has announced the names of the candidates fielded from 59 seats out of the 70 seats in Uttarakhand.


According to another ANI report the BJP Central Election Committee (ECI) has authorised party president JP Nadda to decide the rest of the names of candidates for the BJP who will be contesting the upcoming elections of Uttarakhand, Goa, and Punjab.


The BJP is likely to announce all its candidates by the end of the month, the report said.


On January 21, expelled BJP leader Harak Singh Rawat joined the Congress.


This happened after he met former Uttarakhand chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat.


Ramsharan Nautiyal, the father of Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal, has also been given a BJP ticket for the upcoming Uttarakhand Assembly elections. 


Earlier this month, Colonel Vijay Rawat (retired), younger brother of Late CDS General Bipin Rawat, joined the BJP, in the national capital, in the presence of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ahead of the assembly elections.


On February 14, elections to the 70-member Uttarakhand assembly will be held. Votes will be conducted on March 10.


BJP won 57 seats in the 2017 Uttarakhand Assembly Elections.
