"The enthusiasm among voters show that 'bhoot' (ghosts) will dance in BJP's booths during polling this time," the SP chief said.
Akhilesh Yadav is contesting the polls from Karhal. He has been pitted against Union Minister and BJP leader SP Singh Baghel.
Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav also campaigned for his son Akhilesh in Karhal. The 82-year-old leader said his party's priority was the welfare of farmers and to provide them facilities for irrigation, seeds and fertilizers for increased productivity.
"Farmers, youth and businessmen will make India strong. A huge number of people are present here in the rally, I assure you we will work for development," said Mulayam.
For the first time after the 2019 Lok Sabha election, the Samajwadi Party founder campaigned at a poll rally. Age and ill-health have reduced Mulayam Singh's political activity in recent years.
