New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address huge public meetings at the districts of Hardoi and Unnao on Sunday, February 20, as part of campaigning for the fourth phase of the ongoing assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Hardoi and Unnao are two out of the nine districts of Uttar Pradesh going to polls in the fourth phase of the assembly elections in the state. As many as 59 assembly constituencies are going to polls on February 23, in the fourth phase of the assembly elections in the state.
First, Modi will address a public meeting or election rally in Hardoi at 1:30 pm IST, according to the official schedule posted by the official twitter account of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This will be followed by a rally in Unnao at 3:15 pm IST.
Polling in 59 assembly constituencies across 16 districts in Uttar Pradesh, for the third phase of the assembly elections in the state, commenced at 7 am IST on Sunday, February 20, news agency ANI reported.
Campaigning for the fourth phase of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh will be carried out for two days.
The rally in Hardoi will be organised at CSN College Ground, while the one in Unnao will be conducted at Sikri Mela Ground, Chandankheda in the Purwa constituency, according to ABP News sources.
Karhal is one of the key constituencies where polling began on Sunday. Former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav is contesting from Karhal. Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Law and Justice Satya Pal Singh Baghel has been pitted against Akhilesh Yadav by the BJP.
Yadav will be addressing a rally in Sumerpur, Unnao, at 12:30 pm IST.
The assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh are being held in seven phases, and will conclude on March 7.
