UP Assembly Election 2022: Samajwadi Party (SP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) have announced the names of two more candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.


In this list, Veer Pal Rathi from Chhaprauli and Jaiveer Singh Tomar from Baraut have been given tickets. The alliance has so far announced the names of candidates for 38 seats.


The alliance had earlier released its first list of 29 candidates last Thursday, including 10 from SP and 19 from RLD. It then announced the second list of seven candidates for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections on Saturday. The alliance has fielded Rajpal Balian from Budhana assembly constituency in Muzaffarnagar district and Chandan Chauhan from Meerapur and Ashraf Ali from Thana Bhawan seat in Shamli district.






The alliance has fielded Surendra Kumar Munni from the Muradnagar area of Ghaziabad district, Kiran Pal Singh from Shikarpur in Bulandshahr, Pramod Gaur from Barauli seat, and Birpal Singh Diwakar from Iglas in Aligarh district. It may be recalled that the BJP had won all the seven seats, including Iglas, in the last election. Iglas seat is reserved for SC candidates.


The Election Commission has announced seven phases of polling in Uttar Pradesh starting from February 10. Counting of votes will take place on March 10 along with four other states.


The state will go to the polls on February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 3, and March 7.
