New Delhi: The Samajwadi Party on Tuesday released another list of candidates for the seven-phased Uttar Pradesh assembly elections that are set to begin on February 10. 


In its list of 10 candidates, the SP has fielded Rajesh Pratap Rao from the Kushinagar constituency and Jai Prakash Anchal from the Bairiya constituency in the Ballia district. The other names that are included in the list are Rajendra Chaudhary, Mahendra Yadav, Parshuram Nishad, Uday Narayan Gupta, Pintu Sainthwar, Vijay Rawat, Sudhakar Singh, and Manoj Singh W.






The SP had released a list of 24 candidates on Monday as well in which the party had fielded Sabhawati Shukla from the Gorakhpur constituency against UP CM Yogi Adityanath.


Meanwhile, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also held a joint press conference with West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Lucknow in which she appealed to the people of UP to vote for Akhilesh Yadav. 


Banerjee urged the people of UP to not fall for the “fake promises” of the BJP. “I urge you all to support the Samajwadi Party and make them win, defeat the BJP. Don't fall for false promises made by BJP…,” she said.


Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will be held in seven phases starting February 10. The second phase will take place on February 14, the third phase on February 20, the fourth phase on February 23, the fifth phase on February 27, the sixth phase on March 3, and the seventh and last phase on March 7. The result of the elections will be announced on March 10.
