New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) will issue the notification for the second phase of the Uttar Pradesh assembly election 2022 today and with that filing of nominations for the second phase of UP assembly polls will begin.


For the second phase, nominations can be filed till January 28. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done till January 29 and withdrawal of nominations will be done till January 31. The second phase of the UP assembly election 2022 will take place on February 14. 


In the second phase, polling will take place on 55 assembly seats in nine districts. These nine districts are Saharanpur, Bijnor, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Sambhal, Bareilly, Badaun, and Shahjahanpur.

Along with the issuance of notification for the second phase, today is the last of nominations for the first phase of UP assembly polls 2022. Scrutiny of nominations for the first phase will be done by January 24 and the date of withdrawal of nominations will be till January 27. 


In the first phase of UP assembly elections, 58 constituencies from 11 districts will go to the polls on February 10.


UP Assembly Polls will take place in seven phases over a period of a month. The polling for the first phase will take place on February 10.  And the last phase of polling will take place on March 3. The counting of the votes will happen on March 10.

In the third phase, 59 constituencies will go to the polling. It will be followed by 59 assembly constituencies in phase 4, 61 assembly constituencies in phase 5, 57 assembly constituencies in phase 6, and 54 assembly constituencies in phase 7. 


Apart from UP assembly polls' second phase notification, the notifications for Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Goa will also be released today..
