After a string of challenges faced by the Opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc, including the departure of crucial allies and unsuccessful negotiations regarding seat-sharing in West Bengal and Punjab, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is poised for a significant uplift. This development comes as Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav is set to join the Nyay Yatra on Sunday. The move follows All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's participation in the Yatra, as it recommenced its journey from Moradabad to embark on its final stretch in Uttar Pradesh.
Priyanka will follow her brother Rahul on the Yatra, which will pass via Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, and Agra before culminating in Fatehpur Sikri on Sunday. It will subsequently reach Rajasthan's Dholpur before resting till March 2.
Akhilesh will join Rahul and Priyanka during the Yatra in Agra, just days after the two parties reached a seat-sharing agreement for Uttar Pradesh's 80 Lok Sabha seats. After weeks of harsh discussions and hard negotiating, both the SP and its allies will fight 63 seats and the Congress 17.
As part of the accord, the Congress has agreed to give the SP Madhya Pradesh's Khajuraho seat while contesting the remaining 28 seats in the state.
