Dilip Ghosh, the sitting MP from Medinipur, has been fielded from the Bardhaman-Durgapur Lok Sabha constituency this year by the BJP.

Dilip Ghosh on the election campaign trail in Bengal's Durgapur said, "When she goes to Goa, she says she is the daughter of Goa. When she goes to Tripura, she says she is the daughter of Tripura. First, fix the identity of your father. It’s not good to be everyone’s daughter."

TMC's Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev referred to the ongoing spat between the BJP and Congress over certain remarks made by Supriya Shrinate against the saffron party's Mandi Lok Sabha seat candidate Kangana Ranaut to slam the NCW as well. She said: "The BJP and the NCW chief become so concerned when the matter is about a woman from the BJP. But when the question of Mamata Banerjee's honour comes, you become silent. You should be ashamed of yourselves."

"On one hand, the BJP is giving big lectures on respect of women regarding its candidate, on the other hand, your candidate is insulting the only woman Chief Minister of the country. We know where this dirty mentality of the BJP comes from. Every time you insult Mamata Didi, your votes shrink. More people will support Trinamool Congress," she said in an X post.

The Trinamool recently slammed BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari over remarks made against Mamata Banerjee.
