Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress leader, assailed the regime of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday, stating that the ''big'' officials in the BRS are sitting in farmhouses and controlling the government, and the people are getting poorer while the governing party is getting wealthy, news agency PTI reported. Addressing a campaign rally in Bhongir, some 50 kilometres from Hyderabad, she said that if the BRS is re-elected, the government will run from a ''farmhouse'' and the land liquor mafia will rule the state, with no job chances.
She urged people to vote for the Congress, citing the party's ''six guarantees'' for the November 30 assembly elections.
''Big leaders of Telangana are sitting in their mansions and farmhouses and running the government... All its (BRS) leaders are sitting in big mansions. All their policies are for big business people only. They do not have anything for the small business people, middle class, poor, Dalits and Adivasis,'' she was quoted by PTI in its report.
''Telangana's poor are becoming poorer and the BRS party is getting richer,'' she added.
The Congress leader claimed that the BJP and BRS's agenda is to stay in power and get affluent. She claims that the various party leaders grow wealthy as well.
She stated: "The aim of both BRS and BJP is to remain in power and increase their wealth. You have to show them that the people of Telangana will not surrender for money and they will fight for their rights as they have been doing it."
''When elections come, they start poll management. They should be taught that Telangana people are not for sale,'' she said.
Asserting that Telangana people's ''dreams'' have been shattered, she said that corruption exists in the BRS administration ''from top to bottom at every point,'' despite the fact that no project, including the Kaleshwaram irrigation project, has been finished completely.
She said that the BJP backs the BRS administration in Telangana while the latter backs the latter in Delhi, and that their third ally, Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM, backs both in the state. AIMIM campaigns in 40 to 50 seats in other states, but just nine seats in Telangana, according to her.
''All these three parties are on one side and the Congress is on the other side,'' she said.
According to the Congress leader, the BJP has become the richest party in the world and has handed away the country's wealth to its industrialist buddies.
