Telangana Elections: BJP Releases Fifth List Of 14 Candidates, Fields Ganesh Narayan From Secunderabad

The BJP has released its fifth list of 14 candidates for the impending Telangana elections.

Telangana Elections: The Bharatiya Janata Party released a list of 14 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Telangana on Friday. The saffron party has fielded Ganesh Narayan from the Secunderabad cantonment.

The elections in the state will be held in one phase on November 30 and the counting of votes will be held on December 3. Earlier on Tuesday, the saffron party released its fourth list of 12 candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls. With the latest list, the party has announced the names of 114 candidates so far for the 119-member state Assembly polls. 

The party has fielded the state party unit President Ramchander Rao from Malkajgiri and Deshpandey Rajeshwar Rao from Sangareddy. Rao is a member of the BJP Executive Committee and President of the BJP's Hyderabad unit. He is also a member of the Bar Council of India. He served as the Member of Telangana Legislative Council (MLC) for Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, and Mahabubnagar Graduates' Constituency from 2015 to 2021.

Meanwhile, in the affidavit submitted during nomination filing for the polls, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao disclosed his family's assets, amounting to Rs 58.92 crore.

The Congress Thursday released list of five candidates for the Telangana Assembly polls. The list feature five names - Katta Sreenivas Goud, Mohd Mujib Ullah Shareef, Bhathula Laxma Reddy, Ramareddy Damodar Reddy and Mandula Samuel. On Monday, the grand old party had released its third list of 16 candidates fielding its state unit chief Revanth Reddy against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao from the Kamareddy assembly constituency.

Telangana is likely to see a triangular fight between the BJP, the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and the Congress in the upcoming polls. In the 2018 Assembly polls, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), previously known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), secured 88 seats, hogging 47.4 per cent of the total vote share. The Congress came in a distant second with just 19 seats.
