Lucknow: Samajwadi Party founder and senior leader Mulayam Singh Yadav was rushed to hospital in Lucknow today following ill health. As per reports, the seasoned politician is said to have been admitted to emergency ward at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow.
Mulayam was reported to have some breathing issues before being rushed to the hospital. As per last reports in, Mulayam was been attended to by doctors of the Gastro and Neurology departments of the hospital.
Yadav was last seen attending a joint rally with old rival-turned-ally Mayawati in Mainpuri last week. Once bitter rivals in Uttar Pradesh's state political landscape, Mulayam and Mayawati have now joined hands to take on the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha elections.
The SP patriarch is contesting from Mainpuri and Mayawati campaigning for him is testimony to the fact that they have buried their differences, at least for now. Mulayam had not attended the other SP-BSP joint rallies in Deoband, Badaun and Agra because of health issues.
