The Chief Election Commissioner of India Rajiv Kumar along with his team started the assessment for poll readiness ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu. During the visit, Rajiv Kumar met with representatives from up to nine political parties, including major Dravidian parties, to discuss various issues related to the conduct of the elections. The 10 political parties include Aam Aadmi, Bahujan Samaj, BJP, CPI(M), INC, AIADMK, DMK, DMDK and CPI.

After meeting with ECI on Lok Sabha polls preparedness, DMK leader RS Bharathi said, "We've met the Election Commission and submitted a memorandum regarding VVPATs....We are prepared to meet the elections."


Karate Thiagarajan, Former Deputy Mayor of Chennai and BJP leader said, "BJP has given a written submission to ECI stating that CCTV cameras should be installed in all polling booths, sufficient number of paramilitary personnel be deployed at sensitive booths, flying squads to be also deployed."


Additionally, the CEC also plans to hold a review session with district collectors and superintendents of police later on Friday. Furthermore, the CEC will have separate meetings with the Chief Electoral Officers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala, as well as officials from enforcement agencies, to ensure comprehensive coordination. The visit will conclude with meetings with the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary and the state Director General of Police.














As of now, the dates for the Lok Sabha elections have not been officially announced.
