New Delhi: Congress on Sunday released the second list of 43 candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly Elections.


In its second list, the party has fielded Govind Ram Meghwal from Khajuwala, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Civil Lines, and Parsadi Lal Meena from Lolsot.




Minister of State for Higher Education Rajendra Singh Yadav was fielded from the Kotputli seat.




The party has so far announced 76 candidates for the Rajasthan polls. The first list of 33 candidates was released on Saturday.

On Saturday, the party had named a total of 33 candidates in its first list. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is set to contest from Sadarpura, while former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot will vie for victory in Tonk. Notable contenders in the list include CP Joshi from Nathdwara, Divya Maderna from Osian, Govind Singh Dotasara from Lachhmangarh, and Krishna Poonia from Sadulpur.


It is to be noted that four members of Sachin Pilot camp had got a ticket in the first list. Assembly Speaker CP Joshi has been fielded from Nathdwara, while RPCC chief Govind Singh Dotasara got a ticket from Laxmangarh.


Chief Minister Gehlot urged people to vote for all sitting MLAs in the district during a rally in Dausa on Friday. Gehlot also urged people to vote for the Congress's sitting MLAs in Dausa district, Parsadi Lal Meena, Mamta Bhupesh, Murari Lal Meena, and GR Khatana.


The Chief Minister also named Omprakash Hudla, an independent MLA who has backed the Congress government.


The Congress is seeking to retain power on the strength of its work over the past five years and with the help of welfare schemes announced by the Gehlot government.


Notably, Rajasthan will go to polls in a single-phase election slated for November 25. The counting of votes will take place on December 3.
