Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday likened the Rajasthan Congress to a cricket team whose players, instead of scoring runs, spent five years trying to outdo each other within the party.
"Nowadays, the whole country is filled with enthusiasm for cricket. In cricket, a batsman comes and scores runs for his team. But there is such a fight among the Congress party that these people are busy running each other out", PM Modi was quoted as saying.
During a public address in Taranagar, Churu district, he urged the populace to vote for the BJP in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections on November 25, emphasising that this step would pave the way for the state's swift progress.
"Five years of the Congress government have been spent running each other out...If you choose the BJP, we will throw out the team of corrupt people from Rajasthan," PM Modi said in his latest attack on the Congress.
"BJP will score development rapidly and victory will be for Rajasthan; victory will be for the future of Rajasthan; victory will be for the mothers, sisters, youth and farmers of Rajasthan..." PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister asserted that the Congress and development are at odds and are destined to remain adversaries. He equated the Congress's association with good intentions to that of light and darkness.

Additionally, Modi accused the Congress of "misleading" former servicemen regarding the One Rank, One Pension (OROP) scheme over several decades.
Blaming the Congress for Rajasthan's current plight, Modi emphasised that the state is grappling with uncontrollable inflation and unemployment due to their "misgovernance."
The counting of votes for the Rajasthan Assembly will be held on December 3, 2023.
In the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress won 99 seats, while the BJP finished at 73 seats in the 200-member House.
