In god's own country, Rahul Gandhi, addressing a public gathering in Kannur, promised to end contract labor in public sector units and prioritising permanent employment. He also pledged to address the needs of women by providing them compensation and ensuring government support. He emphasised Congress and UDF's embrace of India's diversity, advocating for the preservation of multiple languages, traditions, and histories. He also contrasted this with the BJP's agenda of imposing a singular narrative.
While addressing a public meeting in Kannur, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said, "Congress and UDF accept the diversity of India. we accept the multiple languages, the multiple traditions, the different histories, and the different expressions of all our people. The BJP wants to impose one history, one nation, and one language on the people of India...For example, if you remove Malayalam from Kerala, then how a mother in the state will explain the history of this great land to her children...So, this is what we are protecting..."
Further, Rahul Gandhi pledged to compensate women for their role in safeguarding India's future by caring for children. He said, "The women protects the future of India and she looks after our children. For protecting our future and looking after our children, the government has never compensated her. The next government is going to be the first government in the history to take that step."
Rahul Gandhi also vowed to stop contract labour in government offices. Rahul said, "Millions and millions of people work in the government sector under contract. They can be sacked one day or the other, thrown out without any support. We will stop contract labour in PSUs and government offices. All jobs will be permanent jobs in these systems."
