Congress MP Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Tuesday. Speaking at Sonia Gandhi's Lok Sabha constituency Raebareily, Rahul said that he saw people dancing drunk on Varanasi streets.

Rahul Gandhi remarked: "I visited Varanasi... Instead of progress, I witnessed a scene where individuals, Uttar Pradesh's future, lying drunk on the streets, dancing in the grip of alcohol." "On the other hand, Ram Mandir is being inaugurated in Ayodhya. You will find Narendra Modi, Adani, Ambani... You won't find people from the backward classes, adivasis, or Dalits...," he said.

Rahul Gandhi on Monday had said that the consecration of Ram Lalla was held with great pomp at the Ram temple of Ayodhya, but Dalits were not allowed entry there. He said: "Even President Draupadi Murmu was not allowed at the venue, but the rich people of the nation were seen at the event."

Rahul Gandhi Hugs Youth In Tears

During the Yatra's Raebarelli leg on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi hugged a youth who was crying apparently upset over the non-employment of candidates from OBC and SC/ST communities as teachers.

Rahul Gandhi said that children in the country are told to study so that they can get a job. After spending lakhs of rupees on studies, when they appear for the examination, the paper gets leaked. "You don't get a job, but some people get jobs without doing anything. This is the future of the youth," he said.

Rahul Gandhi said that when you look at 200 big companies in India, you will not find even a single OBC, Dalit or tribal person among them. If you see the list of MNREGA and contract labour, you will see people from OBC, Dalit and tribal categories in it. He claimed that the youth are with us.
