Punjab Election 2022: In view of the Punjab Assembly elections Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to take charge of the campaign of BJP candidates in the state.

On February 14, PM Modi will hold his first rally for the Punjab assembly elections. Strict security arrangements have been kept in place by the administration. The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has said to protest and oppose PM Modi's visit to Punjab.

The Punjab Police has made heavy deployment for the rally to be held in Jalandhar. According to a report in the English daily The Tribune, seating arrangements for 25,000 people have been made at the rally. However, as per BJP 40,000 people are expected to attend the rally.

The BJP is claiming that party workers and leaders from 14 assembly segments are going to attend the rally. The BJP has stated that 400 buses are expected to arrive at the rally.

Union minister and BJP's Punjab affairs in-charge Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has remained in constant touch with the Punjab Police on the issue of security. Gajendra Shekhawat visited the rally ground with the police to oversee the arrangements. The police are claiming this to be a foolproof plan has for PM Modi's security.

SKM To Protest

Sanyukta Kisan Morcha has claimed that they will protest against PM Modi's visit to Punjab in a peaceful manner. SKM said that on the route through which PM Modi will pass, its leaders and workers will show his envoy black flags.

SKM is accusing the Central government of not fulfilling the promises they made. Last month, it was due to the farmers' protest that there was a lapse in PM Modi's security. PM Modi returned to Delhi without taking part in the Ferozepur rally.
