New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday released its third list of 27 candidates for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.
The BJP has fielded Pradeep Singh Bhullar from Majitha, Vijay Sampla from Phagwara and Fateh Singh Bajwa from Batala.
This comes as Bikram Majithia, the sitting MLA from Majitha, has been fielded by the Sukbir Singh Badal’s Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) from Amritsar East Assembly seat against Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Majithia had recently announced to contest against Sidhu.
The BJP has fielded Balwinder Kaur will contest from Attari, while Kumar Amit Valmiki will contest from Amritsar West.
BJP’s Narinder Pal Singh Chandi will lock horns in the Shahkot Assembly seat, Dr Parminder Sharma will contest from Anandpur Sahib, Iqbal Singh Lajpura from Rupnagar, Darshan Singh Shivjot from Chamkaur Sahib, Sarbjit Singh Makkar from Jalandhar Cantt and Sanjiv Vashisth from S.A.S Nagar.
Besides, the saffron party has fielded Ranjit Singh Gahewal from Samrala, Praveen Bansal from Ludhiana North, Dr Harjot Kamal Moga from Moga, Gurparvej Singh Sandhu from Guru Har Sahai and Vandana Sangwaan from Bulluana.
The BJP, which is fighting the polls in alliance with former chief minister Amarinder Singh's Punjab Lok Congress and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa's SAD (Sanyukt), has fielded Rakesh Dhingra from Lambi, Dhayal Singh Sodhi from Maur, Dheeraj Kumar from Barnala, Randeep Singh Deol from Dhuri and Gurpreet Singh Shahpur from Nabha.
Besides, the saffron party has fielded Jagdish Kumar Jagga from Rajpura, Vikas Sharma from Ghanaur, Seema Kumari from Bhoa and Parminder Singh Gill from Gurdaspur.
Voting for the Punjab Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 14. The results will be declared on March 10.
