Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to perform darshan and pooja at the Ram Mandir in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya on Sunday evening, followed by a roadshow. The visit, set to commence at around 7 pm, is anticipated to draw a massive crowd. PM Modi will perform darshan and pooja at Ayodhya Ram Mandir, news agency PTI reported.
As preparations were underway for the roadshow, Ayodhya's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Raj Karan Nayyar told news agency ANI, "We are fulfilling all duties based on the security norms of VVIPs. We have divided the area into zones, sectors, and sub-sectors."
He further added, "We are preparing ourselves. We have briefed our forces, we are also briefing them at their duty points to make sure they know about their responsibilities at the places where they have been assigned."
Preparations For PM Modi's Mega Roadshow In Ayodhya
The roadshow, spanning approximately 2 kilometres on Ram Path, will kick off from Sugriva Fort and culminate at Lata Chowk. The route has been meticulously divided into 40 blocks, with various communities, including Sindhis, Punjabis, farmers, and women in traditional attire, expected to participate. Cultural performances and flower showers are also planned along the route, ANI reported.
Ayodhya MLA Ved Prakash Gupta expressed the city's excitement, saying, "Tomorrow PM Modi will have darshan of Lord Ram and will hold a historic roadshow here. People in Ayodhya are eager to welcome him." Gupta highlighted the unity among residents, stating, "Around 80 blocks have been made and in those blocks, people from every community- Sikhs, Sindhis, lawyers, doctors, and intellectuals will be attending. There are women, students, and media- people from every sector of society are eager to welcome him."
The city has been adorned with decorations, with gate number 11 embellished with flowers and party flags erected throughout. Security measures are robust, with both police and Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) commandos overseeing the arrangements. Additionally, security at the airport has been intensified.
The visit coincides with Uttar Pradesh's preparations for the upcoming general elections' third phase, scheduled for May 7, covering ten Lok Sabha constituencies including Sambhal, Hathras, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Badaun, Bareilly, and Aonla.
